In an old monastery estate, Tenuta Montelio is located on the hills of Oltrepò Pavese, where vines were cultivated in the 13th century. In 1802, Angelo Domenico Mazza bought his first field, and in 1848, started to produce their wine. Montelio means mountain of the Sun (from Greek Helios). The total area of winery is 78 hectares. The vines are cultivated on the hills, with favorable exposure.
