Lo de Pepitín 2023 – Alicante DOP “Alicante Singular”
A heartfelt tribute to the land and legacy of Mr. Pepitín, the farmer who tended these vines for decades, Lo de Pepitín is a living expression of Alicante’s viticultural soul. Crafted from a field blend of Monastrell (80%), Giró (14%), Arcos (3%), and Bobal (3%), the grapes are sourced from old bush vines planted in 1980 on dry, rocky soils at 610 meters above sea level in Biar. These heritage vines—mass-selected from traditional Alicante clones—yield low, concentrated fruit bursting with Mediterranean character.
Fermented with indigenous yeasts in a 19th-century cellar, 70% of the grapes are foot-crushed and destemmed by hand, while the remaining 30% undergo whole-bunch fermentation. The wine is vinified using low-extraction and biodynamic principles, divided between stainless steel and open vats to preserve freshness and purity.
