Aging takes place in micro-oxygenated tanks, allowing the wine to build structure, refine tannins, and develop a polished, velvety texture. In the glass, the Cuvée Balthazar Syrah reveals layers of black fruits—blackberry, blueberry, and plum—intertwined with subtle hints of spice, pepper, and earthy undertones. The palate is full-bodied, rich, and silky, with a harmonious balance of freshness, fruit intensity, and soft, integrated tannins.
Pierrick Harang Cuvée Balthazar Syrah Pays d’Oc 2022 – Languedoc, France
The Cuvée Balthazar Syrah 2022 is a bold and expressive wine from the Pays d’Oc IGP, crafted by Pierrick Harang from grapes grown in the hills of La Livigneres in Minervois. This Syrah captures the essence of its terroir with intense fruit expression, spice, and structure, offering a wine that is both approachable and sophisticated.
The grapes are hand-harvested at peak ripeness, ensuring optimal concentration and flavor. Winemaking employs long-term carbonic maceration in two tanks, where the juice is periodically transferred under pressure to naturally punch the cap of the pulp. This traditional technique enhances the wine’s aromatic complexity, preserving the purity of the fruit while developing depth and roundness.
