In this 100% Tempranillo, we find all the expression of local wines, with a semi-ageing of 6 months in French and American oak wood that gives it the necessary roundness to appreciate the fruit and freshness of the Ribera del Duero. Luz Millar [lews-me-YAR] means 1,000 Lights representing the stars lighting up the sky along the Golden Mile. Tasting Notes

  • Colour: deep garnet in colour with violet undertones, this wine is underscored by intensive colour.
  • Nose: primary characteristics of the varietal come through, with blackcurrant and ripe fruit blending perfectly with hints of spice and licorice.
  • Palate: deep garnet in color with violet undertones. Rich, ripe black fruits –blackberry, raspberry and bramble berry, with hints of cinnamon and clove laced with licorice. Ample, soft texture with a long finish. Elegant balance with harmony and round, full texture.
  • Serving temperature: 18ºC / 64,4ºF
  • Grape variety: 100% Tempranillo.
  • Production: 10,000 bottles
  • Soil: clayey-calcareous.
  • Output: 3 to 4 tonnes por hectare.
  • Vineyard age: More than 50 years.
  • Grape harvest: second week of October.
  • Ageing: 12 months in new French oak barrels. 6 Months in Bottle.
  • Hand-harvested and hand sorted.
  • Controlled fermentation at temperature not exceeding 30°C, in conical stainless steel tanks, gently turned three times a day.
  • After alcoholic fermentation in deposit, controlled malolactic fermentation at 20°C.
  • Aged in 60% Allier French oak and 40% Missouri New American oak for 6 months.
  • After barrel ageing, the wine is clarified and slightly filtered by plates before bottling.
